Des O'Connor to wed in September

Des O'Connor has revealed that he is to marry his fiancée Jodie Brooke Wilson in September.

The Countdown host, 75, has been dating the Australian singer-songwriter for 17 years. They have been engaged since 2003.

Brooke Wilson gave birth to their son, Adam Harrison Campbell, in September 2004. O'Connor also has four daughters from his previous marriages.

He said: "I want it to be a day Jodie will treasure for the rest of her life. We are both romantics and we can't wait to share this day with the people we love.

"It won't make any difference to our lives together but I know Jodie will feel more comfortable saying 'my husband' rather than 'my partner' and I will always be proud to introduce Jodie as my wife."

This age- gap (she is 38) is worse than the one between Macca & Heather - but at least this relationship has stood the test of time.

If she is 38 now that must mean she was 21 and he was 58 when they started dating. I find that faintly repulsive on both parts!

Mind you, Des doesn't look 75 does he?
