 ONE of the world's most renowned actors returned to his roots to perform a one-man show in Bolton. Sir Ian McKellen - known to millions of film fans as Gandalf in Lord of the Rings - arrived at Bolton Little Theatre to tread the boards nearly 50 years after his last performance there.
