Now surely you've all heard of these beggars...

Based on the books by Finland author Tove Jansson (of which I recommend also) this animation was something I was WELL into... in fact, it's because of the Moomins that I never was confirmed... confirmation classes were on at the same time as Moomins on ITV -

Funnily enough a similar incident happened re: a physics test I should've stayed behind for and the animation 'Trap Door'... but that's another story...

Anyhow... I LOVED this show... call me childish, call it nostalgia... call it what you will but I've got the entire series on DVD - have a look here:
