What can I say? I thought it was brilliant! I laughed, I cried, I laughed until I cried, then I cried some more and laughed and sat with a big smile on my face and tears running down it! Caroline Ahearne is a genius! Class performances from Liz Smith, Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnstone - and to be honest all the cast were marvelous! Sinead O'Connor singing "Scarlett Ribbons" is one song that never fails to make me weep, so you can imagine the state I was in at that point! Bejewelled dialogue, some real gems. I'm so glad I taped it so I can watch it over and over again, although I notice this is already out on DVD today in Asda! I will bide my time and hopefully they will update the Box Set to include this perfect episode. I hope this is not the end for the Royle Family ~ just a new beginning. AWESOME!!!     |
